How do I know TAAL is Connected?
A: Connect and wait for the TAAL icon [TAAL] to become blue from red. If it is not connected, then you may need to enable OTG connection from your device settings.

How do I record after TAAL is connected?
A: After the TAAL icon turns blue, select the filter you would like to use. For Default filters, you can use heart (heart), lungs (lungs), or bowels (bowels) icons and for custom filters please use the custom (custom) icon. After selecting the relevant filter click the BIG RED record button at the bottom of the screen to begin recording. Depending on the limit you have set, the recording will end automatically. If you choose to end the recording earlier, click the stop button.

How does the custom filter work?
A: Click custom (custom) icon, this will open up a box where you adjust the filter by scrolling or you can enter specific values.

Can I change the filter while recording?
A: No. Filters must be chosen before the recording begins.

Why are there 2 recordings made?
A: TAAL is designed to output 2 files for every recording made. Here, one file is the RAW file and the other would be filtered denoted at FLT. RAW files would contain all sounds including noise and external noise and FLT files will contain only the sounds produced after filtration.

Why am I hearing noise even after applying filters?
A: It is possible that you are listening to the RAW sounds, please click on files with FLT prefix to listen to filtered sounds.

How do I edit/modify an already recorded sound?
A: Go to the library from the menu (menu) tab, then select the desired sounds. Alternatively you can go to the patient list from the menu and select the desired sounds. Once you tap on the sound, you will see the crop (crop) or EQ (Post filter) symbol. This will open a new screen where you will be able to modify sounds. Files will be created under the respective RAW recording for any modifications made.

Can I share sounds with the App?
A: Yes, the sharing feature will roll out soon. You should be able to share the sounds with anyone. However for security purposes the referral person will have to download the Surr for Taal App for use.

Can I sort patients by date/patient ID/Phone Number?
A: Yes, you may do so in the Library Screen, accessed by the menu (menu) tab.

What is emergency mode?
A: The Emergency button (emergency) is on the top left of the screen. If this mode is activated then you will not be asked to enter patient details. Instead, a pop up will appear where you can enter a simple identifier. This file will be saved in your library as an incomplete recording which can be completed at a later time.

Do I need to activate flight mode to access emergency mode?
A: No. You can decline going into flight mode and still record in emergency mode. However, we recommend that you go into flight mode for medical purposes.

Can I modify default recording time and other details?
A: Yes, click settings from the menu (menu) tab.

Does Surr for Taal App work with all stethoscopes?
A: No, a Taal digital stethoscope device is required and the app is specific to this device.
